To celebrate the World Cup, I was asked to design the costumes for the ITV coverage campaign. The brief was to take the viewer back in time - to see fans watching England play in the World Cup going back through the decades of the 20th Century, from the 1960s to the 2000s. A little moment in time of celebration caught on camera. It was so much fun to research the costumes from each decade and then recreate the looks, using mainly pieces from London costume rental houses and vintage shops. Recreating a period look, be it Tudor or the 1980s, it’s all about getting the details right. This is what makes the costumes come to life.
